RHEUMATOLOGY, TRAUMA AND GERIATRIC ORTHOPAEDICS

Comprehensive and detailed evaluation of all Rheumatology conditions is done in this department. After adequate evaluation these conditions are managed with international standards. Surgical deformity corrections of these conditions are also done. Faculty who has more than fifteen years in treating these conditions, manage these conditions. Regular follow-up evaluations are also done with expertise.All skeletal Traumas are managed with recent and advanced methods. Full-fledged intensive care facilities are available in this department.

Age related skeletal problems including degenerative conditions of spine and joints, metabolic orthopedic conditions like osteomalacia, gout and osteoporosis etc.  are evaluated adequately and treated with up-to-date standards. Surgeries for these conditions, when needed, are also undertaken.

HAND AND LIMB RECONSTRUCTIVE MICROSURGERY

The hand and limb reconstructive microsurgery unit, under Ortho II, is involved in the management of major upper and lower limb trauma including open fractures which require fixation and flap cover including microsurgical free tissue transfer. The unit expertise in brachial plexus and peripheral nerve surgery including nerve repairs, nerve transfers, tendon transfers, operative procedures for obstetric brachial plexus palsy like Modquad, Triangular tilt, Derotation osteotomies etc. major replantation – arm, forearm, wrist and replantation of fingers and thumb are other features of the unit. It also is involved in secondary trauma reconstructive procedures like tendon/nerve reconstruction. Management of congenital anomalies like syndactyly separation, pollizisation for thumb hypoplasia, management of radial longitudinal deficiencies and other features.

Inpatient Services: Patients admitted are getting expert management of senior faculty, postgraduate students, interns and other qualified technical staff. All of these staff are on 24-hour duty for patient care.

Outpatient Services:   The Department is functioning as three units.
