Dr. HariKrishnan.S joined our distinguished Department of Gastroenterology as an Associate Professor in March 2023, bringing over 15 years of exceptional experience in gastrointestinal care. Renowned for his expertise in advanced endoscopic techniques, including third space endoscopy like endoscopic removal of GI cancers and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), Dr. HariKrishnan is well known in the field of medical gastroenterology.

Dr. HariKrishnan is a recognized expert in third space endoscopy, a cutting-edge minimally invasive technique for treating complex gastrointestinal conditions, and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), which provides precise imaging and intervention for digestive and pancreatic diseases. With over four years of experience in liver transplantation, he also excels in managing cirrhosis of the liver, viral hepatitis, and inflammatory bowel diseases such as ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease. His proficiency extends to a wide array of endoscopic procedures, including upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, endoscopic control of GI bleeding (e.g., EVL banding), stricture dilatation, polypectomy, early endoscopic treatment of gastrointestinal cancers, foreign body removal from the GI tract, and palliative esophageal and colonic metallic stent placement.

Dr. HariKrishnan completed his MBBS at Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram, under Kerala University. He earned his MD in Internal Medicine from the prestigious Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGI), Chandigarh, and further specialized with a DM in Medical Gastroenterology from the esteemed All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi.
