A multidisciplinary centre for diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of children with multiple challenges under the auspices of the Department of Pediatrics

 

 

Established as a Development assessment clinic in Pediatrics in 2002 by veteran Dr Kurian Thomas and is now blooming and heralding a new era in Child Development concepts and disability management. The beneficiaries of the centre are by far more than seven thousand families.

Our current team includes 2 Developmental Paediatricians and 15  Experienced Multidisciplinary therapists.

A carefully and tastefully planned, scientifically designed and appropriately equipped building area of 4000sq feet is set apart in the mother and child block dedicatedly for Prateeksha CDC.

SPECIALITY

  • Pediatric Epilepsy Management with In-house EEG.
  • Medical management of ADHD, Autism, Behavioural problems and others.
  • Physiotherapists and occupational therapists focus on encouraging a person's day-to-day movement skills such as sitting, walking, playing, dressing and toileting. They will use a range of specialist interventions such as movement training and equipment, e.g. walking frames, wheelchairs, supportive seating, footwear and orthotics.

          

  • A developmental therapist evaluates the global development of children in order to identify areas of delay and identifies the factors responsible for it. They design, implement, and modify therapeutic interventions for the child and the family to promote the child's acquisition of skills through a variety of developmental therapy programmes in order to improve the quality of life at home and in the community; and provide consultation for the parents and other professionals working with the family on global development.

           

  • Speech Therapist deals with various speech and language-related disorders.
  • Special Educators focuses on the upliftment of children with learning difficulties and disability(dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia). Strategies include attention enhancement therapy and digital rehabilitation therapy.
  • Rehabilitation Therapist focuses on the age-appropriate holistic developmental upliftment of a special need child.
  • Child & Adolescent Guidance / Counselling Services.
  • Parenting Management Training.
  • Botox injection in severe cases of cerebral palsy.
